Sandra Pizzarello

Sandra Pizzarello studies meteorites, looking for chemicals that might have clues to early life on Earth. In 1969, she found amino acids in a meteorite that landed in Australia. Laboratory tests showed the amino acids were active. The results supported Pizzarello’s theory that meteorites influenced the way life developed on Earth.
